I wonder, who the crowd is going to cheer for! Honestly, if they wouldn't get AJ Styles to show up in the match, at least, pick somebody that the crowd might cheer for. Second off, they put an American good-guy wrestler in a match with a Canadian heel in Canada. First off, Jack Swagger and Chris Jericho are not feuding. The next match on the card, does not make any lick of sense. At least, the pre-match had was the debut of the uber popular, Booty-O cereal. It was all over the internet! It wouldn't surprise me, if Barrett get written off, television, sooner than later. The only problem with this match is that the results of who is the winner is pretty damn predictable seeing how the dirt sheets, expose the details of Wade Barrett wanting to quit WWE. However, Kofi Kingston did take a nasty looking botch spot on his head, toward the end. The match between them, was pretty standard work from both of the teams. Instead, the first aired match at the Ricoh Coliseum was the tag team championship match between the champions, 'The New Day' (Big E and Kofi Kingston) (with Xavier Woods) VS 'The League of Nations' (Sheamus and King Barrett). To the best of my knowledge, the dark match between Goldust and Viktor was not even tape. Nearly nothing really stand out with this event. While, it's not the worst WWE PPV show, I ever saw, it's one of the most forgettable. Also, nearly half of the card, had no real story or feud, driving the matches forward. It was sloppy put together, due to the fact that half of the rosters is injury and many of the top stars are missing. He’s a contributor to the Forbes where he focuses on the WWE, NBA and NFL.Originally a house show titled, 'March to WrestleMania: Live from Toronto', WWE Roadblock is not a show, you want to talk about, much if you're a wrestling fan. The return of a top-tier superstar always seems to pique interest in WWE, even if it's just briefly, and Triple H should do that when he comes back in the near future.īlake Oestriecher is an elementary school teacher by day and a sports writer by night. Rollins was once Triple H's "chosen one" but was replaced by Owens, making this a classic WWE storyline of a superstar going to battle with an authority figure who turned on him. It's been rumored as a potential WrestleMania 33 match for months after Rollins' injury prevented this match from happening at WrestleMania 32, and given that both superstars figure to have a major match at WrestleMania, this is a bout that makes sense given their storied history as friends-turned-foes. With Raw having a pretty deep tag team division, perhaps this is the route WWE will take by splitting up one of its most popular groups in recent history.Īs if the hints in Seth Rollins' promos weren't enough, Rollins' victory over Jericho (who should now be in his rearview mirror) virtually ensures that Rollins vs. All three superstars, and in particular Big E, have the potential to be main event level singles stars, which is something WWE may want to test out. You have to wonder if The New Day dropping the tag team titles was done, in part, because there are plans to split up the trio.Īfter a record title reign that lasted nearly 500 days and not much else for Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston and Big E to accomplish in the tag team division, their loss to Sheamus and Cesaro at Roadblock could have been done to start the slow build to the end of the stable. Bayley as Raw's top women's feud heading into WrestleMania 33 would be ideal, and given Charlotte's attack on Bayley at Survivor Series, the feud is ready made. Bayley is an easy story to tell with two super competitive performers looking to rule the women's division, and they have the potential to top even what Banks and Charlotte have done over the last five months in terms of the quality of their matches.Ĭharlotte vs. There's plenty of history between Charlotte and Bayley stemming back to their time in NXT, and Bayley has sadly been overlooked and poorly booked on the main roster, which needs to change. The best option for her next opponent? Bayley. Look for Neville to step up as Swann's next challenger, and perhaps become the next Cruiserweight Champion.Ĭharlotte continued her impressive PPV winning streak, once again defeating Sasha Banks, and now, it's time for her to move on to a new challenger.
